Free Mobile Medical Service
Regular Mobile Medical Service is being provided since 1980 in and around the different villages of three Gram Panchayet (GPs) of two districts ‘at free of cost’. The mobile medical team is composed of a general physician, a pharmacist, an assistant, local volunteers and a driver with a Medical Van.
At present, Mobile Medical Unit is operating once in a week at Kamarpukur & Balidewanganj in the district of Hooghly and Koalpara in the district of Bankura.

Ramakrishna Mission Pallimangal (Medical Unit)
This Medical Unit of Ramakrishna Mission Pallimangal is working in the field of health & health education for economically & socially backward communities. The main projects under this unit are 1) National Leprosy Elimination Programme (NLEP) and 2) Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP).
National Leprosy Elimination Programme (NLEP) :
Few years back, Leprosy was one of the burning public Health Problems in and around the Arambagh Sub-division in West Bengal. Considering the need Ramakrishna Mission Pallimangal has started this programme in July, 2001. The programme was envisaged with general survey, early case detection, diagnosis and MDT treatment, retrieval of the defaulter, Inter-personal IEC, Group IEC. Similarly Passive case detection and referral service to the PHC for diagnosis and treatment, Inter-personal IEC, Group IEC, Contact survey, DPMR management, SER activity etc. are being taken up by Ramakrishna Mission in the above mentioned areas of Arambagh Sub-division. Total population is about 4.5 lakhs in the project area. The specific geographical areas have been entrusted to eight Field Workers (PMW), One Supervisor (NMS) and One Doctor.
Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP) :
This programme has been started since 2002 .in collaboration with CARE India under Scheme II. Now the service is continuing underScheme-IV of RNTCP programme with direct supervision of District and State Govt. Health Department. It is a designated Microscopy and Treatment Centre (DMCTC) under Arambagh TU since 2007. Now this programme is carried out under DMCTC Scheme. During the year, Sputum examination for early detection for suspected cases and the confirmed patients are treated through our treatment centre & referred to the different sub-centres under Arambagh T.U.
Our activities of this programme like, DOTS treatment service, follow up the cases, defaulter retrieval, health education to the affected person and his/her family members, Inter-personal IEC, sensitization of the common people etc. are being continued.
